Primate and Wildlife Safari (12 Days)

On this safari there will game drives and boat cruises in Murchison Falls National Park, Queen Elizabeth and Lake Mburo National Parks. It will also include Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Forest and Chimpanzee tracking in Kibaale Forest.

Day one: Airport pick up.
Our Company representative will pick you from the airport and transfer you to your accommodation in Entebbe. Overnight at the Boma guest house

Day Two: Kampala- Murchison Falls National Park
Set off in the morning and head towards northern Uganda for about 6-7 hours. Drive Top of the Falls-Murchison Falls through the famous Luweero Triangle to Murchison falls National Park. Stop over for lunch in Masindi town.

You will take a drive to the top of the falls where you will see the magnificent falls and enjoy and marvel at the mighty Nile being forced in to a seven meter crevice to thunder 45 meters below in a series of cascades that can be viewed at different points up to the summit. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge.

Day Three: Murchison Falls National Park.
After an early morning breakfast, embark on a half day thrilling Uganda wildlife safari on the northern bank of the Nile. , escorted with a game ranger expect to see elephants, Giraffe, countless Antelope , Hartebeest, Lions, Oribis, Waterbucks and a variety of savannah woodland birds. At 14.00hrs, after lunch you will go on a Nile cruise up stream for game viewing at close quarters and view a variety of hippos and crocodiles.

You will also get to see the awesome inspiring Murchison falls where the River Nile hurls its self into appalling convulsions .Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge.

Day Four: Drive to Kibaale Forest
After breakfast you will drive to Kibaale Forest. This is a long drive that will take you almost the whole day. You will arrive at your accommodation late in the evening. Overnight Chimpanzee Forest Guest House

Day Five: Kibaale National Park-Chimp Tracking.
After Breakfast you will go for a primate tour in the tropical rainforest in search of wild chimpanzees, red tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys. You will also see a variety of birds and butterflies.

In the afternoon you can take an optional visit to the crater lakes for sight seeing. Alternatively you can have a nature walk to Bigodi swamp. This is a community based activity that enables the tourist to give back to the community yet enjoy the nature offered by the swamp, many colorful butterflies, birds (137 species) and a number of primate species. Dinner and overnight at Chimpanzee Forest Guest House.

Day Six: Kibaale- Queen Elizabeth National Park.
After an early morning breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park check in your accommodation and relax a bit. Have lunch in the afternoon and go for a Nature walk to Maramagambo forest after lunch.

View various plant species, monkeys, butterflies and Birds. Visit the bat cave and take a closer look at the bats. If lucky, you will spot the rock pythons that occasionally feed on the bats. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari lodge

Day Seven: Queen Elizabeth National Park.
After an early morning breakfast, go for an early morning game drive. Look out for other animals like lions, Buffaloes, Elephants, leopards, spotted Hyenas, and Giant forest hog. And after lunch, you will go for a launch cruise along the Kazinga channel on the cruise, abundant bird life is sighted like black chested eagle, , pink blacked pelicans, King fishers and perhaps the highest concentration of hippos in Africa. Also view Buffaloes and elephants. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari lodge.

Day Eight: Queen Elizabeth National Park-Bwindi.
After breakfast with packed lunch, proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and drive to Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth depending on the situation of the road and weather today and if you are lucky you will spot the tree climbing lions. Incase it is impossible to use this route; you will pass another route to Bwindi.

Day Nine: Bwindi –Gorilla Tracking.
After an early breakfast, with packed lunch and the necessary tracking gear, you will report to the park offices for a briefing that prepares you for gorilla tracking. With Gorilla trekking, it is difficult to foresee how many hours you will hike.

The Gorilla tracking might take 2-8 hours. Expect to walk long distances in steep muddy conditions sometimes with rain overhead before you encounter any Gorillas. For conservation purposes, the time spent with the Gorillas is limited to one hour. Overnight Engagi lodge

Day Ten: Bwindi – Lake Mburo National Park.
After breakfast drive to Lake Mburo via Mbarara arriving in time for lunch. You will go for an evening game drive with chances to spot a large number of Zebras, elephants, Bushbucks Sitatungas. Dinner and overnight at Mantana tented camp

Day Eleven: Lake Mburo National Park.
After an early breakfast, you will take an interesting safari walk, this park boosts the best Nature walks in all parks and it’s only this park that you can see Game/wild life on a walk. After lunch, have an afternoon boat trip to cool off and also to enable us spot more water species like hippos, birds and occasional Nile Crocodiles. Dinner and overnight at Mantana tented camp.

Day Twelve: Lake Mburo – Departure
After an early breakfast, transfer to Kampala with lunch enroute and stop at interesting places briefly like the equator and the Mpingi drum makers, take some photos and buy yourselves some crafts or souvenir. Transfer to the Airport for your departure flight.

*Please note that for this itinerary to work your departure flight should be late in the afternoon or in the evening.
