Uganda Cultural Tour

Day 01: ARRIVAL
Arrive at Entebbe airport where you will be met by your guide and our vehicle and taken to The Boma Guest House for overnight.

Day 02: BOOMU VILLAGE
After breakfast and a safari briefing, you will drive to Boomu Women’s village, lunch will be at Masindi.
In Boomu you will see the different variety of crops that are grown and how they are processed. There will be a talk about the key issues that are affecting the area and shown things of local interest all the while interacting with the locals.
In the afternoon you will participate in cooking process. You will be taken to the fields where you can help dig your dinner which will then be prepared. While waiting for dinner to cook you will participate in fetching firewood and cooking water. Dinner will be served the local way with the option of a fork!

Day 03: MURCHISON FALLS/TOP OF THE FALLS
This morning after breakfast, you will go for a community walk, learn the process of weaving and other activities. Later on you will drive north to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest national park visiting the top of the falls on your way to your accommodation. The park is bisected by the Nile River, which falls almost 150 feet during its passage through the park at dramatic Murchison Falls. The park is home to 374 species of birds and a range of commonly seen large mammals including lion, leopard, hyena, elephant, Rothschild’s giraffe, buffalo, Jackson’s hartebeest, hippo, Uganda kob, warthog, reedbuck, bushbuck, oribi, and the Nile crocodile.

Day 04: MURCHISON FALLS / GAME DRIVES/ LAUNCH TRIP
This morning you will enjoy a game drive and birding on the northern bank, you will spend the morning exploring the grasslands and woodlands of Murchison Falls National Park. Your game drive will take you through open grasslands and acacia woodlands. Dominating the plains’ horizon is the blue-grey western wall of the Rift Valley and shimmering waters of Lake Albert. Lunch will be at the lodge. In the afternoon there will be a launch trip to the bottom of the falls, where you’ll find numerous crocodile and hippo in the river and along its banks. Day 05: MURCHISON FALLS / GAME DRIVES
Morning and afternoon game drives on the Northern Bank. Overnight Paraa Lodge

Day 06: KIBAALE FOREST
Early departure for Kibaale going via Fortportal – this is a long drive that takes about 11 hours and on quite poor roads, there will be a picnic lunch en route, you will arrive at Chimp’s Nest Camp in the evening, dinner and overnight Chimpanzee Forest Guest House

Day 07: KIBAALE / COMMUNITY AND SWAMP WALK
Today after breakfast there will be a swamp walk and a village walk where you will have a chance to visit a traditional healer, visit the homestead mixing with the locals and learn about the traditional ways of the community. Overnight Chimpanzee Forest Guest House

Day 08: SEMLIKI / PYGMIES
Today you will visit the Semliki reserve with a picnic lunch, visiting the hot springs and the pygmies before returning to Fort portal for the overnight, Dinner and overnight Semliki Lodge

Day 09: QUEEN ELIZABETH/ LAUNCH TRIP
After breakfast drive to Queen Elizabeth national park, to Mweya Lodge, in the afternoon there will be a launch trip on the Kazinga Channel, game drive back to the camp, dinner and overnight Mweya Lodge

Day 10: GAME DRIVES / COMMUNITY WALK
Early morning game drive, visit Katwe salt lake, cultural walk, in the afternoon there will be a visit to the fishing village. Overnight Mweya Lodge

Day 11: BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST
After breakfast you will drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. If road conditions allow, your drive will be through Ishasha famous for its tree climbing lions if you are lucky you may spot them. You will arrive in Bwindi in the afternoon. If you are up to it, a community walk can be arranged this evening. Dinner and overnight at Engagi Lodge

Day 12: GORILLA TREK
Early breakfast, short walk to the park headquarters for a briefing from the guides on the gorilla trekking etiquettes, gorilla trekking can take from 1 hour to up to 8 hours, so it is advisable to take a picnic lunch and some drinking water with you, dinner and overnight Engagi Lodge

Day 13: BATWA CULTURAL WALK
Today you will participate in the Batwa cultural walk. Batwa guides will introduce you to their way of life. Dinner and overnight Engagi Lodge

Day 14: NSHENYI VILLAGE
This morning transfer through Ntungamo before continuing to Nshenyi Village to a rural farm to experience the traditional way of living, dinner and overnight at Nshenyi Village farm

Day 15: NSHENYI VILLAGE
Early wake up to join in the milking of the cows, after breakfast visit the Bahima village to experience the lifestyle of the Bahima. You may also choose to visit the local school, dinner and overnight at Nshenyi Village Farm

Day 16: LAKE MBURO / BOAT TRIP
After breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo, game drive to the Mantana camp, lunch, afternoon game drive and boat trip on the lake, overnight Mantana Tented Camp

Day 17: GAME DRIVE/ WALK
This morning take a game walk, game drive in the park, in the afternoon there will be a visit to fishing village, dinner and overnight Mantana Tented Camp

Day 18: DEPARTURE
Early breakfast, final game drive out of the park, drive to Entebbe with a stop at the Equator and Mpigi drum makers, if time allows you will have a chance to visit some sites and to do some shopping in Kampala before connecting with your flight out of Entebbe.

End of Services

Safari includes transfers from and back to the Entebbe airport, transportation in a 4 WD safari vehicle, unlimited game drives, services of a professional driver guide, all park entrance fees, excursions mentioned, Nshenyi and Boomu village visit, meals and accommodation as stated and bottled drinking water in the vehicle.

Safari excludes flights to and from Uganda, visas, medical or travel insurance, drinks, tips and gratuities to porters, waiters, gorilla and chimp guides, safari guide and camp staff
