Uganda Highlights Tour (10 Days)

Day 01: Arrival – Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Upon arrival, driver/guide will be waiting to collect you. After a safari briefing, you will drive north to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Rhino Fund Uganda and the Uganda Wildlife Authority work closely together in this rhino reintroduction program. Afterwards, you’ll continue on to Masindi. Dinner and overnight at the Masindi Hotel. Lunch and dinner included.

Day 02: Murchison Falls National Park
This morning, you will continue north to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest national park. The park is bisected by the Nile River, which falls almost 150 feet during its passage through the park at dramatic Murchison Falls. The park is home to 374 species of birds and a range of commonly seen large mammals including lion, leopard, hyena, elephant, Rothschild’s giraffe, buffalo, Jackson’s hartebeest, hippo, Uganda kob, warthog, reedbuck, bushbuck, oribi, and the Nile crocodile. Day 03: Murchison Falls National Park
Unlimited game drives. You will enjoy the launch trip to the bottom of the falls, where you’ll find numerous crocodile and hippo in the river and along its banks as well as a game drive to the top of the falls. You will be able to walk to within inches of crashing waters and feel the ancient rocks vibrate under your feet. It is a very humbling experience! Paraa Lodge. All meals included.

Day 04: Kibaale National Park
After breakfast, you’ll drive to Kibaale National Park. This afternoon if time allows (otherwise it can be done the next day), you will visit the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary and enjoy a guided walk around the Magombe Swamp, which will provide you with the opportunity to see a wide range of flora and fauna. Overnight Primate Lodge. All meals included.

Day 05: Kibaale National Park
This morning you will search for families of chimpanzees and other primates. Kibaale forest has the highest density and diversity of primate species in the whole of Africa. After lunch, visit the local village. Primate Lodge. All meals included.

Day 06: Queen Elizabeth National Park
Today you will drive past the Ruwenzori Mountains (Mountains of the Moon) before reaching Queen Elizabeth National Park. Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda’s second largest National Park. The melting glacier waters of the Ruwenzori Mountains Rwenzori Mountains create a vast wetland system comprising of two lakes, George and Edward, as well as the connecting Kazinga Channel. Thousands of hippo populate these lake shorelines. Open savannah dotted with Acacia and Euphorbia trees provide habitat for elephant, lion, leopard, Uganda kob, and large herds of buffalo. You’ll enjoy a launch trip on the Kazinga Channel, which provides a unique and unequalled wildlife experience. Expect to be eye to eye with yawning hippos and surrounded by vast numbers of migrant and resident water birds. Many buffalos rest in the water while elephants enjoy themselves drinking along the banks. Mweya Lodge. All meals included.

Day 07: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, your drive to Bwindi will be via Ishasha in the hopes of seeing tree-climbing lion and more of Uganda’s stunning wildlife. Bwindi is an exceptionally rich and varied ecosystem. It is one of the richest forests in East Africa for birds (350 species), butterflies (310 species), and trees (324 species). Bwindi also has at least 120 species of mammals including ten species of primates. Overnight Engagi Lodge. All meals included.

Day 08: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Today will be spent visiting the home of half the world’s remaining population of mountain gorillas. Once found, you will spend one hour with the gorillas. This is the experience of a lifetime and one that is never forgotten. Engagi Lodge. All meals included.

Day 09: Lake Mburo National Park
This morning you will depart for Lake Mburo National Park. Your drive will take you through the scenic route known as “Little Switzerland” and Ankole country. Enjoy an afternoon game drive. Mantana Lake Tented Camp. All meals included.

Day 10: Transfer to Entebbe Airport for your international flight out
After breakfast, you’ll enjoy a final morning game drive as you leave Lake Mburo. Return to Entebbe to connect with your international flight out. End of services. Breakfast and Lunch.
