Gorilla Trekking in Uganda and Rwanda

Day 01: Arrival – Boat ride to Ngamba Island
Upon arrival in Entebbe airport, you will be met by your driver guide for the safari and transferred to your hotel. After an early lunch, transfer to the Lake Victoria Shores for a speed boat ride to Ngamba Island for a visit to the Jane Goodall Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary of orphaned chimpanzees. Later transfer back to the mainland. Overnight The Boma Guest House. Lunch and dinner
Day 02:Transfer to Kibaale Forest
This morning after breakfast transfer to Kibaale forest. This forest is known to hold over 10 primate species among them, one of the Great Apes, the Chimpanzees. In the evening, we take a nocturnal forest walk in the forest to spot the Bush babies, Galagos and pottos. Overnight at the Primate Lodge. All meals included
Day 03: Chimpanzee Trek – Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast transfer into the Kibaale forest for a half day forest walk in search of Chimpanzees and other primates. After lunch, travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park arriving late in the evening. Overnight Mweya Lodge. All meals included.
Day 04: Chimpanzee trek – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Today wake up early taking a picnic breakfast and a picnic lunch with you for a guided Kyambua Gorge Chimpanzee and other primates’ trek. Kyambura gorge is also home to other wildlife including the Hippos. After a picnic lunch, drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest arriving late in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight Engagi Lodge. All meals included.
Day 05:Gorilla tracking
After breakfast you will be taken to the park headquarters for a briefing on the gorilla tracking etiquettes. The rangers and guides will then take you through the thick and steep vegetation until the gorillas are located. Once located, you will be allowed 1 hour with the gorillas. After the trek return to the park headquarters where you guide will be waiting for you to transfer back to the lodge. Overnight Engagi Lodge. All meals included.
Day 06: Rwanda
After breakfast, travel to Kisoro through beautiful mountain scenery. After lunch, proceed to the border and cross to Ruhengeri arriving at the foot of the Muhavura Volcanoes for dinner and overnight at Mt Gorilla View Lodge. All meals included.
Day 07: Gorilla Trek Parc National de Volcans.
After an early morning breakfast, you will go for the Gorilla tracking in
Parc National des Volcans the rain tropical forest covering the hills surrounding Virunga Volcanoes.
The trekking is a demanding but rewarding experience. Ensure you bring with you enough water and the packed lunch. The time spent in the forest depends on the movements of the Gorillas in their natural environments. After the activity, you will return back to the Lodge. Overnight Mt Gorilla view lodge. All meals included
Day 08: Departure
After breakfast, transfer to Kigali to connect with your international flight out. End of services. Breakfast included.
Safari includes: airport transfers, private transportation and game drives in 4WD safari vehicles with opening roof hatches for maximum game viewing, the services of professional driver/guides on safari, all park entrance fees, accommodation and meals as stated, excursions as stated.
